Ergonomics Specialist
We are seeking a Certified Professional Ergonomics Specialist to advise federal agencies on office and operational planning to enhance worker safety, comfort, and productivity. This role will assess workflows and workstations to mitigate ergonomic risk factors and comply with occupational health regulations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the client’s resident expert in ergonomics and accessibility solutions.
- Deliver ergonomics recommendations and resources to the client’s employees and surrounding federal agencies via evaluations, trainings, webinars, and demonstrations, aligned with OSHA guidelines.
- Conduct outreach efforts to federal agencies to promote services and partnerships.
- Conduct complex ergonomic evaluations that assess work environments, job functions, functional limitations, and recommend solutions to optimize employee safety and productivity.
- Develop detailed written evaluations and recommendations based on ergonomic assessments.
- Demonstrate a wide range of ergonomic equipment, products, and workplace adjustments to the client’s employees.
- Input accurate data and maintain up-to-date case records in the Salesforce database.
- Design and deliver educational events, training programs, and workshops to promote disability awareness, ergonomic safety, and injury prevention.
- Support the client’s compliance efforts with Executive Order 14035, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008, and the Telecommunications Act of 1996.
- Apply technology-based solutions and human performance analysis to resolve complex ergonomic issues.
- Participate in annual symposiums and special events hosted by the client.
- Maintain a minimum 90% customer satisfaction rating by providing timely, responsive, and effective support to the client’s employees.
- Multitask effectively while upholding a high standard of professionalism in all customer interactions.

- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Salesforce data entry and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Training & Facilitation: Ability to develop and deliver engaging training sessions and workshops.
- Problem-Solving: Capability to design innovative solutions for complex ergonomic challenges.
- Data Analysis: Ability to collect, analyze, and apply customer feedback to improve service delivery.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Required Qualifications
- Certified Associate Ergonomist (CAE) through the Oxford Research Institute or Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE®).
- Experience conducting ergonomic assessments for individuals with disabilities and understanding functional limitations affecting workplace performance.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to input and manage case data in Salesforce.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Demonstrated experience developing ergonomic solutions and facilitating accessibility training programs.
- U.S. Citizenship may be required depending on agency policies.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Demonstrated experience supporting diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility initiatives under federal mandates (e.g., Executive Order 14035).
- Strong familiarity with federal accessibility compliance standards and workplace accommodation processes.
- Experience using human performance metrics and technology-based analysis tools.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Ergonomics, Occupational Therapy, Industrial Engineering, Assistive Technology).
- Proficiency in Salesforce, Zoom, Teams and OnceHub.
Clearance
- Applicants selected will be subject to a badging process and must be able to meet eligibility requirements for a public trust clearance.
Location
- In-person position at either the DC South Building location or the GWCC location in Beltsville, MD.
- Some travel to other agencies in the area may be required.
